2K Love Story Movie Review
Suseenthiran’s 2K Love Story is a middling entertainer that makes it a mix of today’s GenZ youth and how they get torn between friendship, love and everything in between.
The film is based on the relationship between Jagaveer and Meenakshi Govindarajan, who are friends since their childhood. The film travels in the first half as the duo put together a pre-wedding shoot company and then find their own meanings of love and relationships. In the second half, the story moves forward with themes of possessiveness, longing, familial issues and more. Suseenthiran has tried to make it very relatable to today’s audiences but his understanding falls apart and is not in line with their motive. The film tries to do too many things at once, and does not turn out to be an inspiring watch on the whole.
Despite that, it has some positives – Meenakshi is excellent in her part and the film gets a lot more watchable due to the presence of Bala Saravanan and Singam Puli (in the second half).
2K Love Story is not exactly a perfect representation of today’s love stories, but it is a film that keeps the ball rolling thanks to its primary cast and a few good moments here and there.
Verdict – A time pass entertainer!
